The Town Council is the governing body of the Town. It sets Town policies in all areas of Town services. In turn, the Town Administrator and other Town staff carry out the policies the Council adopts.
Council consists of 6 Council Members and the Mayor. To serve on Council, one must be a U.S. citizen, a registered voter, at least 18 years of age, and a resident of the Town of New Castle for at least 1 year. Council Members receive $50 for each regular and special Council meeting they attend.
Council meets in regular session the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month, starting at 7:00 p.m., at New Castle Town Hall, located at 450 West Main Street. The person appointed would serve until April 2012.
