The Parks/Open Space/Trails Committee makes recommendations to Town Council on developing property owned by the Town into community recreation areas, with guidance from the Parks, Open Space, and Trails Master Plan. Funding sources for these projects include grants, recreational facilities development fees collected by the Town from developers, and a ½ percent sales tax increase approved by New Castle voters in November 2000.

Larry McDonaldJohn Wenzel Dave Gray John Harcourt Members of the New Castle community who wish to help plan the development of the Town’s parks, open spaces, and trails are encouraged to volunteer to serve on this Committee.
The Committee meets as needed on the first Wednesday of the month, starting at 6:00 p.m. at New Castle Town Hall, located at 450 West Main Street. Meeting agendas are posted at Town Hall, the New Castle Post Office, and the public notice boards in the Castle Valley Ranch Subdivision (at the intersection of Alder Avenue and Wagon Wheel Circle and at Kay Williams Park). The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
