Meet K-9 Kipp: New Castle’s Newest Partner in Public Safety
At just 4 months old, K-9 Kipp, a Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix, is training to become a dual-purpose police dog alongside his handler, Officer Alcorta. From detecting narcotics to assisting in suspect apprehension, Kipp will play a critical role in keeping New Castle safe, especially with the challenges posed by our proximity to the I-70 corridor.
Why K-9 Kipp Matters
As one of the few working K9 teams in Garfield County, Kipp and Officer Alcorta will enhance community safety, reduce drug-related crime, and foster trust between residents and law enforcement.

- Specialized training for Kipp and Officer Alcorta
